Picking Strawberries – By Mr. Anthony Burkett

Spring

absence of nourishment
rakes upon the soul
in even well-spaced lines

as arid unforgiving soil
with no fruit to show
the beauty of nature’s labor

enter now spring
with nurturing hope and dreams
blossoming buds coloring green on white

once forsaken now renewed
desolation conquered
a promise laden path

fragranced aroma
of heart shaped love on the vine
tantalizing the senses

pick now while ripe
that birthed of passion
sweet with desire’s delicious nectar
